From the preceding quiz, you may get the idea that there are just a few points on the "homophobia" scale ranging from "non-homophobic" to "homophobic". However, the issue of homophobia is far more complicated than this.
There are a wide range of attitudes towards human sexuality. Riddle (1994), attempted to broaden the concept of homophobia when she devised the following scale. She broadly divided attitudes into "negative" and "positive" attitudes and, then, into sub-categories of each.
